Designing the UI was a lot easier with the inventory and library (I wasn't entirely sure if I was doing it the right way though). I initially wanted to have a raft on each of the UI but felt that I was taking it a bit too literally, and it began to look a bit comical and childish as well.

Based on what was taught in Experience Design class, Adobe Illustrator (or Ai) was the best program to design basic UIs. I tried doing it in Ai at first but felt the need for fixed guides and grids so I switched to using Adobe InDesign instead. It proved to be a good call as it was easier to create the layouts there.

Worth mentioning is Adobe's latest software called Adobe XD which was specifically made for designing UIs. I hadn't had the chance to try it out just yet but I plan to very soon (based on the demos, it looks real easy and fun to use).

Project Recommendations
If I were to take this project further, I'd probably focus more on honing the inventory and library. I didn't really adhere to Frost's Atomic Principle here but I would definitely do so in my future UI projects. I would also try to work out how to animated the transitions since it's such a big part of UI and UX. Lastly, I would also definitely test it out on my intended users to get quick feedback and improve the app's features and design. Hopefully through better design and testing, the app will be able to help a generation of new and aspiring designers (like myself) quickly and effectively get their first job in Australia.
My Insights
This practical project allowed me to explore a lot of unfamiliar territory, from Australian work culture and local design practices, to designing user interfaces. It was quite a challenge for me mainly because of the "detour" I had in Week 08 but I do realise that that's all part of the process of exploration.
